Discounted booking for the reunion

We are only 35 days away from 2013 -- Reunion Year -- so I thought I'd post some detailed information about booking accommodations at Bissell's Hideaway.

Here are some things you should know about the location and why it was selected for the Van Zeumeren Family Reunion.

1) It is very clean and well-run.
2) It has a very large, very beautiful meeting hall with both indoor and outdoor space that we have booked -- at no charge -- for our use for the entire weekend. We will be able to use it as place for group meals and any other events we want to plan, rain or shine, and as a place to gather for campfires, coffee hour, happy hour and everything in between.
3) There are many amenities, all included free with your camping or cabin booking, such as a water park, paddle boats, tennis, basketball, beach volleyball or mini-golf.
4) It is a very central location to other Niagara amenities, such as cycling, hiking, golf, farmstands or wineries, and it is located in the beautiful rolling Shorthills of the Niagara Escarpment (a world biosphere reserve). Many other Niagara parks are not as well-maintained or they are crowded, or located on busy highways.
5) It has a wide range of accommodation options, including many cabins.
6) They are giving us last year's rates, plus a discount.

Here are the published prices, but subtract 20% off a three-night stay and 25% off a four-night stay:

Non-serviced tenting $70.00/night
Full service camping $75.00/night
50-amp pull through $80.00/night
Rustic Cabin (sleeps 4, 1 double bed, 2 single bunk beds) $100.00/night
Studio Cabin (sleeps 4, 1 queen bed, 2 single bunk beds) $200.00/night
Deluxe Cabin (sleeps 6, 1 queen bed, 1 double pull-out couch, 2 single bunk beds) $250.00/night

Prices are for 4 people – 2 adults and 2 children (they weren’t being too picky about how old the children are). Extra people are $20.00/day, but the same discount percentages apply for the extra people too – so 20% or 25%.

So, for example, the Studio Cabin for 4 nights would be a total of $600.00 ($200.00 per night less 25%).

If you are booking accommodations but have more than four people in your group, you might want to get in touch with someone with a smaller group to take advantage of any extra wristbands.

Some people have booked already, but we recommend booking early in 2013 so we can all be near each other. Call the resort directly and say that you are part of the Van Zeumeren reunion. Ed and Isabelle are the owners.
